This past week, 14 of the BWRT members completed the PA Fish & Boat's Ice Rescue and Emergency Response (IRER) certification. This certification was the last of a 5-step certification process for many of the team's members. As of today September 2, 2014 Blairsville FD has responded to 250 alarms YTD. We have gained 6 new probationary members, one of which has completed his probation requirements. Welcome aboard Mark Sherba,as a active member of the Department. The others are continuing their required training, and are on course to active membership in the next few months. Station 120 is off to a busy start here in 2014, with 114 alarms before the end of March. We also have a few fundraising events scheduled, including our Lenten dinner sales/ Fish Fry every Friday during Lent, and a Gun Ticket for a Henry Golden boy Fire Service Commemorative edition 22 caliber rifle.
